American Airlines carries felt sorry for against Google

The largest airline company in the world, American Airlines, continues Google in justice. It denounces the abusive uses of its mark by its competitors, via the advertising system Adwords, principal source of income of the search engine.

For memory, Adwords makes it possible the advertisers to buy key words with the biddings with Google, which will generate sponsored bonds in the results of research of the Net surfers having carried out a request on them.

American Airlines reproaches Google for having sold key words like “American Airlines” or “AA.com”, and “of the words, the sentences, or the terms which approach confusedly these marks”, to competitors which produce thus, on its back, from the traffic towards their own Web site.

It is not the first time Google is the subject of such a complaint in the United States.

In France, Google already was the subject of several judgments for its system of advertising bonds, even if the bases of the decisions still divide the judges who hesitate still between counterfeit, responsibility for fault for common right and more rarely misleading publicity.
